Why Menopause Coaching is Needed Now
Around thirteen million women in the UK are currently going through the menopause transition, and many women reach it with very little preparation. Hot flushes, sleep disruption, weight gain, low mood and changes to brain health are dismissed as something to be endured. The healthcare system is stretched, appointments are short, and women are left managing this life stage largely on their own.
That gap is where a menopause practitioner works. Health coaching gives women the time, knowledge and confidence to understand what is happening in their bodies and to make changes that hold.

Your Route to Becoming a Certified Menopause Practitioner
Your qualification is the CNM Health Coach Diploma, a Level 5 Diploma in Health Coaching awarded by Gatehouse Awards and regulated by Ofqual. It runs to 740 hours across five modules:
- How the Body Works: 120 hours
- Nutrition and Health: 120 hours
- Fitness and Exercise: 100 hours
- Coaching Skills: 300 hours
- Business, Marketing and Promotion: 100 hours
You begin with how the body works, because you cannot support menopausal women without a good understanding of the physiological changes behind their symptoms. From there you move into nutrition, movement and the coaching skills that turn knowledge into lasting change for your clients.
Menopause health is woven through the course rather than bolted on. You will study hormonal changes, stress management, bone and brain health, weight management and the role of nutrition across this stage of women’s health. You will also learn where your professional practice ends: recognising red flags, understanding when a client should discuss hormone replacement therapy with her doctor, and referring on with confidence.
What You Will Be Able to Do
- Explain menopause symptoms and the physiological changes driving them
- Build evidence based nutrition and exercise plans for female clients
- Coach women through perimenopause and menopause towards their own goals
- Recognise when to refer to a medical professional
- Support clients with sleep, energy, mood and weight
- Build a coaching business with the clients you want
