I’ve found my true self again!
Catherine Rhode – Health Coach Graduate
Studying at CNM has filled me with confidence and given me purpose – I feel so free!
What did you do before studying at CNM?
I’ve worked in the fashion industry for over 23 years, freelancing for a large corporate retailer. When the pandemic hit, I lost my work so I studied to become a Certified Wellbeing Coach. After finishing the course, I didn’t feel ready to coach yet as I wanted to hone my coaching skills by studying further.
What made you want to become a Health Coach?
After being on a personal healing journey myself and learning from some amazing practitioners and mentors, I felt inspired to help others on their health journey. I’ve wanted to change my career path for many years but never knew when or how to do it. When I lost my freelance work, it gave me the push I needed to start afresh and forge a new career path. After completing the wellbeing coach training, I wanted to learn more as I didn’t feel it was enough. I was perusing the CNM website one day and spotted the Health Coach Diploma – training to become a Health Coach was the answer I was looking for. Combining my passion for the health and wellbeing industry along with my keen interest to help and motivate others was a dream come true.
What attracted you to the Health Coach course?
I’d been looking at studying with CNM for a few years after attending many of their lectures. I loved the atmosphere and people at the college so it seemed like a natural choice. Studying in-person in a classroom environment was important to me as I love being around others, immersing myself in the experience and learning from others. CNM offers both online and in-class study so it was a perfect fit. The variety of modules, homework and practical activities all appealed to me. CNM’s Health Coach course ticked all the boxes!
What did you enjoy most about the CNM Health Coach Training?
Honestly, I loved everything. Initially I had to do the course online due to the lockdown; however, on day one, I knew the course was going to be special. It felt so right and we all gelled over the screen! Everyone was so welcoming and friendly including all the tutors who were amazing – so knowledgeable, patient, supportive and fun. And to top it off, my classmates have become friends for life.
How has studying for the Health Coach diploma changed your life?
It’s given me back my confidence. I had lost myself and felt trapped, unsure of what I doing with my life and how best to move forward. Since doing the course, my life has changed for the better in so many ways. The course filled the gap that was missing for so long. I feel excited and inspired by what the future may bring.
What are you doing now that you are qualified?
I’m currently working part time in the fashion Industry whilst I gradually build up my private health coaching practice. I’m in talks with people about potential freelance work within the health industry and my website is soon to launch too!
What do you love about being a Health Coach?
I love connecting with people and helping others achieve their health goals within a practical and achievable timeframe that is right for them. Helping to motivate, guide and empower clients by supporting them to maintain long-term, consistent habits really lights me up. Seeing my clients lead more fulfilling and calmer lives as a result of the work we do together is incredibly rewarding. I believe we are all individuals with different needs and what works for one person, doesn’t necessarily work for others.
