Asta Harrison – Health Coach Graduate
I managed to reverse my condition with lifestyle and diet changes
What did you do before studying at CNM?
I studied at Online Health Coaching at Oxford College. This was a good introduction, however, not enough and I wanted to be qualified.
Alongside I have been working in the Health sector as a Bank NHS Health Care Assistant for Newcastle upon Tyne RVI and Freeman hospitals. I have been working in this sector since 2015. That year I was made redundant second time and this made me think about a change in my career.
From 2006 to 2015, since my arrival to the UK, I worked in Human Resources as an Officer, Advisor and Manager.
Before my arrival to the UK, I was an English Teacher.
As you are able to see, I have changed my career a few times to be where my destiny lies, where my biggest passion is. Since my teenage years I have been interested in healthy living, eating, herbs, plants, and natural medicine. I have applied these principles to myself which helps me maintain a healthy weight, balance hormones naturally, exercise for health, stay energetic and flexible, have a strong immune system, prevent and reverse some diseases, etc.
What made you want to become a Health Coach?
As I mentioned earlier, this is my life, my biggest passion, and I was looking for possibilities to be able to help, encourage and empower other people to live healthier, happier and stay active till the end of their lives.
What is more, since I started working in the health sector, more and more I have been thinking of prevention rather than treatment of chronic diseases. I also became more aware that conventional medicine was not able to help with various health conditions ( I managed to reverse my condition with lifestyle and diet changes without turning to conventional treatment). I continued my research about functional medicine to keep me up-to-date with newest developments and ways to live healthy and happy till the end of our lives.
What attracted you to CNM’s Health Coach course?
I had been looking for a good course for more than a year. I was very much interested in studying at CNM college, as it looked really well organised and promising, and once my circumstances changed, I was able to join a course which was part time and it meant I would be studying at a college as well and not only online. That was one of the main reasons as I wanted interaction with other students and lecturers.
What did you enjoy most about the course?
I enjoyed interaction with other students and lecturers the most.
How has studying the Health Coach diploma changed your life?
I am certified now and I believe this will help me change the life of others. That will be the biggest change of my life.
What are you doing now that you are qualified?
At the moment I am travelling , as it is one of my other passions, and I am also thinking and creating my signature programme. I am looking to launch it in September 2022.
What do you love about being a Health Coach?
I love the potential, the opportunities and the unknown as everything is changing.
