Meet the team: Katarina Cepinova

Burnout made me rethink my health and future path.

What do you do at CNM?

I conduct a variety of roles at CNM. I am a Senior Lecturer, Clinical Supervisor, and Marker for Nutritional Therapy Diploma Course as well as a Business Lecturer for the Health Coach course. In addition, as a current CNM Nutrition Clinic Lead I oversee all aspects of clinical development, learning and training for students and staff across all CNM colleges.

What were you doing before joining CNM?

I originally studied International Business Management at University, achieving a first class Master’s Degree in International Management from Oxford. I was super excited to embark on a successful corporate career in International Sales & Management for over 15 years. This culminated in a variety of experience in working within the corporate sector, product development, people management and overseeing large sales targets.

What sparked your interest in naturopathy?

During my corporate career I was working very long hours for a very long period of time, not looking after my health. I reached a burn out point which made me rethink not only my health but also my future path. I decided to take responsibility for my declining health and invest into further educating myself on how nutrition can change my life for the better. I originally studied at CNM to understand more just for myself but it turned out to be the best career change move I could have ever made.

How do you think a healthy lifestyle affects people’s lives?

Healthy diet and lifestyle is the most important piece of puzzle in people’s lives. We are able to take control of our own health and those around us by introducing positive changes every day. Every small step will cumulatively make a long term transformation leading to a better quality of life and health.

How do you see the Health Coaching industry in the next 3 years?

We are at the start of a very exciting development in personalised health area and Health Coaching is and will continue to play an important part. We can now see more and more NHS based health providers including GPs connecting and working with Health Coaches to deliver better and more sustainable health service for every individual.
