I’d reached burn out in my career
Jenny Jones – Health Coach
I now always prioritise my health and wellbeing and feel passionate about helping others
What did you do before studying at CNM?
Prior to my children being born I worked in the Education sector as a secondary school teacher/tutor/assessor. Since my children came along, I have been running fitness classes, and have just spent the past year re-training in Counselling level 3, Mindfulness Teaching, and Health Coaching.
What made you want to become a Health Coach?
Many years ago I suffered a period of poor health. I’d reached burn out in my career and consequently my physical and mental health suffered. I went on my own journey of exploring ways to nurture myself back to good health through natural approaches and successfully did so through making positive changes in my life. I now always prioritise my health and wellbeing and feel passionate about helping others who need support with theirs.
What attracted you to CNM’s Health Coach Course?
The Health Coach course on offer at CNM sounded ideal for what I was looking for. It focuses on key elements that I wanted to learn more about such as nutrition and fitness and it also includes a comprehensive section about how the body works which is really helpful to gain a deeper understanding of how much nutrition and fitness does for our body’s systems and also how common health conditions can occur. It also appealed to me that the course included a coaching section which provided me with a chance to work with real-life clients to gain experience, and also a business section to help me feel more prepared for setting up my own business. I also liked that it has been accredited by the NHS as it opens up employment opportunities there, as well as self-employment options.
What did you enjoy most about the course?
I genuinely enjoyed all of it and found every section very valuable. I feel I have gained so much knowledge which will not only help me in my new career, but also on a personal level, helping family and friends too. All of the resources were easily accessible and easy to digest, and I really loved it when I reached the stage where I could work with real-life clients.
How has studying the course changed your life?
This course has enabled me to follow my dream of running my own business doing something that I feel truly passionate about. I feel like I have the opportunity now to provide a valuable health support service to clients, while also having a flexible job that works well around family life.
What are you doing now?
I am busily preparing to launch my own health & wellness business, called ‘Jenny Jones Health & Wellness’. My website is in the final stages of development and is almost ready to launch! My goal is to work with others who need support to get back in control of their health. I am also keen to offer my services to a variety of settings such as corporate/schools/colleges and communities.
What do you love about being a Health Coach?
I love that I am doing a job that truly helps a person to live their life more healthily and happily. After all, to me, there’s nothing more important in life that good health and happiness!
