Jennifer Duffy – Health Coach
The skills I’ve gained from the Health Coaching course have helped me meet their needs more accurately.
What did you do before starting your studies with CNM?
I taught Art and Yoga in Education Units in the Irish Prison Service. I currently teach Yoga in Portlaoise Prison and have a small private practice as a Yoga Therapist in the Kilkenny area.
What made you want to become a Health Coach?
I was interested in expanding my holistic skill set. Through my engagement with people as a yoga therapist I often field questions about nutrition and fluctuating energy levels. I took a number of on line courses in nutrition. These courses piqued my interest in a naturopathic way to optimise nutrition. I also wanted to supplement my knowledge on how the body works.
What attracted you to CNM’s Health Coach course?
The CNM YouTube shorts are informative and user friendly. I enjoy the way information is presented in easy to digest amounts. When I contacted CNM for further information the staff were friendly and encouraging.
What do you enjoy most about the course?
I am currently on Module 3, Fitness and Health. I enjoy the prescribed work outs and sharing this exercise regime with friends. The assignments are confidence building. So far Nutrition for Everyday Living has been my favourite module but I am looking forward to inputs on Marketing and blogging.
How has studying the Health Coach diploma changed your life so far?
In my work as a yoga teacher in Prison I meet men at a vulnerable time in their lives. The skills I’ve gained from the Health Coaching course have helped me meet their needs more accurately. I am optimistic about my future as a Health Coach in the wider community and look forward to the possibility of meeting clients in a less strained environment.
